Coach Discount: A coach bringing 10+ wrestlers will be provided room and meals at no cost and will assist in supervising his wrestlers, provide support and share ideas with other coaches. All coaches who plan on bringing a team must contact Dave Grant at 815-753-9478 (day) or 815-751-2546 (cell). Each team will be assigned an instructor for the entire week. Teams will wrestle 12 matches with personal instruction after each match. Teams that are not comprised of 13 individuals may be joined with other teams. The camp clinician and the team coach will critique the individual/ team on their strengths and weaknesses.

Location/Directions
All wrestling activities will be held at the Convocation Center or NIU Wrestling Room (at Huskie Stadium) on the campus of Northern Illinois University. DeKalb is located one mile north of the East-West Tollway (Interstate 88), Annie Glidden exit.

It is also accessible via state highways 38 and 23. The city is 65 miles west of Chicago, 45 miles southeast of Rockford and 183 miles northeast of Springfield.

Housing and Food
All resident campers will be housed and fed at Grant Towers South, an air conditioned residence facility. All efforts will be made to meet roommate preferences. In case of unavailability, roommates will be assigned based on age. Camp staff have been through a security check and will supervise campers at all times. Commuters will receive lunch and dinner only and will have access to showers in Convocation Center locker rooms.

Check In / Check Out
Check in the first day of camp is 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Grant Towers South. Check out on the last day of camp at 11:30 a.m. There will be no supervision provided for campers after 12:00 p.m. Parents are encouraged to attend the wrestling tournament from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. on the last day of camp at the Convocation Center.

Key Deposit
A $30 cash key deposit will be required for resident campers upon check in and will be refunded upon the return of the key at the close of camp.

What to Bring
Participants should bring blankets, sheets, a pillow, towels, toiletries, laundry detergent, swimsuits, a fan, alarm clock, plus practice equipment-running and wrestling shoes, t-shirts, shorts, socks, supporters, and sweat clothes. No tank tops. Knee pads and head gear are optional. Commuters must be properly attired for practice sessions. Avoid bringing valuables, as Huskie Sports Camps are not responsible for lost/stolen articles. A small amount of extra spending money is suggested.

Who is Eligible
Camps are geared for grades 1-12 and all levels (beginners to state champions). Resident campers must be at least 10 years old.

Rules and Regulations
Campers must abide by the rules and regulations of the Huskie Wrestling Camps. Campers are required to attend all sessions and activities. Any serious violations, damage to NIU camp property, or other behavior deemed detrimental to the group will result in immediate dismissal. There will be no refund of fees upon expulsion or upon voluntary withdrawal from the camps.

Insurance and Medical Care
A member of the NIU Athletic Training Staff will be in attendance during camp activity sessions to handle any injuries that may occur. A parental authorization/release of information form is included and must be returned with the registration form. All insurance information must be complete or the camper will not participate. If applicable, a doctor’s release must be attached if camper is recovering from a recent illness or injury, or if he/she will be participating with a cast or splint. Note: Camp includes much physical activity. Participants are encouraged to be properly conditioned.

Registration Methods

A nonrefundable deposit of $45 must be sent in the form of a check or money order, payable to NIU, with this application or charged to your Visa, MasterCard or Discover credit card. The balance of the camp fee must be paid in full two weeks prior to camp. Please include your child's name and camp on your check. We accept applications until camp begins, space permitting, but recommend you mail your application by June 15 to guarantee your spot in camp. Mail the completed registration form and medical history form with the nonrefundable $45 deposit to:
